If you could make a donation to help me continue my work I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you!
Renovation work at Wappenshall
For many people outside Shropshire, and for a good few within, the name Wappenshall won't mean a lot. But if you visit this tiny community on the outskirts of Telford you would find that the old canal basin, and surrounding buildings, is a hive of activity.
The work being undertaken there is significant as it aims to restore two wharf buildings and the canal basin that hasn't seen water for many years
Every Friday and Saturday a band os between 10 and 15 volunteers, most of whom are not in the first flush of youth, work hard to repair and restore these buildings and surrounding area.
The pandemic didn't help things and on many occasions neither does the weather, but despite these challenges the team continue to make a real difference.

One of the team at Wappenshall is 82 y/o Dave Moore, the oldest volunteer working on the restoration. He's a retired pattern maker and can be seen here making a mould for a concrete window lintel. His skills would put many to shame!
