Good to see.

Let's hope the trend continues.

The boat shown below is built by Ortomarine.  For more information on their boat building please visit their website.

Everything is Hunky Dory.
Everything is Hunky Dory.
Last week was a busy one that saw me in visit Nantwich and Droitwich to see three new boats. It isn't obligatory for the locations of the boats I look at to end with 'twich', but there does seem to be a pattern here!

The one above is called Hunky Dory and was moored in Droitwich Marina when I saw it just before it left to travel to a permanent home. All of the boats were impressive, as you might expect with anything brand new and that has taken many months of planning and hard work to complete. But this one stood out.

I wasn't because it was painted predominantly white, or that the design of this huge looking stern made it stand out from the crowd. The reason lay below the impressive stern decking.
The secret below decks.
The secret below decks.
I've no intention in publishing all of the technical spec on the boat and its propulsion system here, but it was good to see boat buyers thinking along these lines. My hope is that when the owners get to grips with their new boat, they'll find they rarely need the generator to top up the battery bank. Fingers crossed for enough sunny days to make full use of the solar panels on the roof.

Let's hope we see more people thinking like this in the future.
