The gradual shift in the seasons has, this year, been exaggerated by the hot dry summer. As a result we might in in for a long and colourful autumn.
An autumnal view over the Shropshire hills.
Having looked through many of the images I've posted, this view is obviously a favourite, especially at this time of day.
With the nights getting noticeably longer and the leaves turning on the horse chestnut tree (amongst others) it's obvious that autumn is on its way despite it being August.
But this just highlights the shift in the seasons. Springs gets earlier and the rest of the seasons seem to continue the trend.
Some see the onset of Autumn as a sad time, and yes we do say goodbye to the local swallows (who seems to have already left) but migrant birds will be arriving too, and the season beings new colour to the countryside and with it, new photo opportunities.
I'll try to avoid too many more of this view, that or I'll resist the temptation to post them online!
