A lot of money but not that much when you look at the cost of other new boats around.

Not only that but it’s light, easy to use had room for four people and uses a small outboard so wont cost the earth to run. The full report will be published in Canals and Rivers in a months time so I can’t put the copy on here just yet but suffice to say it’s a nice boat offering good value for money.

I found this animation on Flickr and thought it worth mentioning it here. It comes courtesy of NASA and is on the Goddard Photo and Video Blog pages. I won’t go into reposting all of the technical info that goes with the images as you can read them yourself on the page, but something like this does highlight what astronauts say when they view the earth from space.

Most have reportedly said how beautiful and blue the earth looks against the black void of space. It also highlights our venerability as although we inhabit the surface of the globe we are kept alive within that tiny thin blue halo that surrounds it.

There isn’t much of it and that’s all that stands between us and nothing.

And to think what we do with such a delicate and small area in which to live!

So it’s been over a month since I last updated this blog and for good reasons. I’ve been attending a number of training courses since late December and these have only just finished. The result as been that I’m now and employee as well as being a freelancer.
For a number of reasons I’m not going into details but suffice to say it’s nice to be taking on new challenges but I’m still very keen on the media work I’ve been making a living from over the last umpteen years.
Today has been something of a pause in my busy new life, and having read a blog post by the BBC’s technology correspondent (sorry if that’s the wrong title) Rory Cellan-Jones, looking at citizen journalism, I’ve registered with a few new video streaming services. I hope I’ll have the chance to try some of these out over the coming months but chances are they will lay, unused, like so many other things I’ve registered with in the past.
With all good intentions you understand!
Will post again soon when I’ve something interesting to pass on.
The ambulance service used two air ambulances one of which took this image. It won’t mean much to anyone other than those who know the county town but for those who do it just goes to show the amount of damage.

Lets hope that those who were hurt will recover full and quickly.

More information on the event can be found by clicking here.
